Postcards on the wall

Sticking another portion of postcards to a shrinking shagreen wall I realized that there isn't so much space anymore. So an idea came up to my mind to review the history of the postcard wall.
First it was mere pragmatic concealing of the wallpaper's imperfections:

But then it somehow began to grow, gradually and consistently:
